This was happening in the cold the worst when the truck/tranny was not warmed up. When sitting still the truck will go into first fine. But when on the move while slowing to a stop to stop at a stop sign or something, I have to push it way too hard to get it to go into first unless I literally come to complete stop then it slides right in. Once the truck is warm and driven for a while this doesn't happen.

Syncros going out? The truck has 219k and change on it, I just ordered mt90 to change out the tranny fluid.

Anything else anyone recommends other than just dealing with it?

    Thanks.

I thought that was a safety thing so you don't misshift into first while moving?

    clutch master full?

Failing slave is a good guess, possibly internally (no external leak) failing master.

219 original clutch? That's a great run, indicating you are not abusive.

Yeah I'm thinking it could be the clutch as well, lets out at the end and doesn't grab like it used to lol

Should be full, I'll have to give it a once over and check for leaks. Hoping the transmission fluid will smooth it out for the time being while I save some cash.

Thanks for the help so far, will check it all out.
