    second this! Easy to check. Unlock steering, grab shaft under dash, try to move steering wheel. Any movement makes it worth the time and effort to do the mod.

    did you get it aligned after replacing the rack?

    In the end, the solution is more than likely the same as was discussed earlier. worn out control arm bushings, old ball joints, and poor alignment. If you didn't get it aligned after the rack replacement, definitely do that, and see what your numbers end up being.
