    @tonered how timely.

    We just dealt with this problem last night on a brand new SCS wheel. 3 lb sledge on the backside of the tire took care of it.

    My first line of defense is a portable inflator. If it can hold air for 5 minutes, then it's the tire shop's problem, not mine. :cookiemonster:

    But I second the shake-the-shit-out-of-the-truck method. If I can't get my arms around it and hulk it off the hub, then grabbing it by the bedrail is a great way to vent frustrations.

    NO....put a few lugs back on, but loose, and kick the outer section of the tire.

    Hit the tire with your purse.

    Seriously... this is normal in the North... you have to kick the tire (donkey kick method works best) while alternating the right and left side of the tire. it'll pop off eventually.

    So weird as the face of the wheel looked almost pristine. Might have been the hub centric bore?

    Ya, it's due to the corrosion that forms between the steel hub and the aluminum wheel. As mentioned upthread, liberally apply anti-seize to the area on the hub where the wheel mates to.

    I had a real bitch of a time once trying to get an aluminum wheel off of my 2nd gen 'Taco. Swore it would never happen again. It hasn't.

    As a mechanic I see it all too often. I invested in a 10lb dead blow sledge hammer. Best idea I've had in a long time

    Common issue. All suggestions are spot on. I use a sledge.

    After you get it off - clean the hub hole of the wheel and the surfaces that contact the face of the rotor/drum, and then do a light smear of grease on those surfaces and hub ring (cleaner than dealing with anti-sieze) - it will make a world of difference the next time you have to mess with it!
