trouble replacing steering rack bushings

    1996 Tacoma 3.4L V6 2WD 5-lug AT 5VZ-FE
    As a 2wd this just has 2 bushings that are both installed differently than the 4wd versions.

    First issue is the D bushing holder is a solid metal piece. I got it completely free of the rack's bracket no problem, cleaned it a little, spun it around the shaft to get a good look, and there's nothing else that detaches! How is the bushing supposed to come out? It almost looks like you have to remove the inner tie rod and slide it off the steering rack. I'm not doing that. Video here:



    Second, the driver side bushing below has these big lips on both ends. How does it push in given those?

    I haven't removed the old one yet. The above video on the D bushing was as far as I got on the rack. I'd like to know what I'm getting into before I get back to it.
