Trouble running in sand 4H

    I ran 4LO at a sand dunes park a couple years ago. Hell, I was up to 45mph. Just watch your tachometer. I didn't like seeing mine get over 3500. The truck will shift the transmission normally, you just start climbing rpms much faster than normal.

    It was amazing how much torque and power I had over 4HI at the same speeds. And I'm sure it is easier on the transmission due to the better gearing.

    I believe the manual says to keep it under 40 mph in 4 low.

    Have to air down. In sand that loose it’s a must . That’s what give you all the traction you need

    I understand that airing down can seem like a hassle. I have waited until I was digging holes many times before I bothered to air down and drive away.

    I just look at it a part of the experience and learned to enjoy it, lol. Having those automatic deflators and a quality portable inflator make it a lot less of pain.
