i get about 22 a tank on my slight hilled 40 mile commute. 25 on the way to work 20 on the way home. I do 68 both ways.

Had a full large UHAUL trailer and got about 16mpg @ 55mph in S5/ECT.

Anything over 70 and the MPG drop off hard.

That's about what I'd expect, anything over 65 -70 and unladen mileage drops like a stone, a trailer over 60 would probably be the same.

Check your tire pressure . 2 lbs. of pressure can make a lot of difference in mpg's . Always air up when towing . YMMV

I was getting 14ish unloaded before I got the latest software update (Rev 1 - or calibration ID that ends in 03) and then it increased to around 16, then I replaced my Crankshaft Position Sensor (the one on recall, but there are more trucks impacted than the recall covers...) and it bumped up to a pretty steady 20 unloaded and if I have gear (not towing, but probably 5-600 lbs loaded) I can still get around 18.

What makes you say it impacts more than 35k trucks?

Mine for one - I'm not on the recall list and there is NO way I shouldn't have been given the changes in performance I experienced (harsh idle stopped, stuttering minimized, MPGs immediately increased). But there are several others on the forum who've either had the dealer replace them out of recall but under warranty or replaced them on their own as I did and experienced improvements.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Yep, I'm not on recall but going to change mine hoping it fixes the rough idle at times. If there are no changes I will have a spare.

is your truck stock? any mods? bigger tires? etc?

ECT button is specifically for when you are towing. use it!

I towed about 4000 lbs up and down mini mountains (Grapevine in California's I5) at 60-70 mph with no power problems, even ran cruise control with no issues. I got crappy mpgs thought (10ish), but that's expected.

my truck is basically stock, with beefier Duratrac tires.

If you have a heavy foot you can easily only get 14 miles average. I was averaging 16 when I first got mine. Now driving like a grandpa I only get around 18 combined. Most of my driving is city/suburb driving. If I'm on the thruway I can get 20-23 at best

Yes this is just another reason i will be trading my taco soon back to ford or chevy. My old chevy got just as good of gas mileage as this taco.

look and this is halfway through a tank of gas

Sounds like placebo effects to me for some of those that changed who were not on the recall but ok, good for you.

If only - I have data that would suggest otherwise... Idle @ 1,000RPM vs. 550 RPMs for starters...

You have data on all who changed not subjected to the recall achieved better performance?

If it's just you then no need.

Not trolling, just wondering where you have dreason to believe more trucks than the 35k were going to be affected by the CPS recall

Your basis was because you changed yours and saw improvement, also stating others changed theirs saying they saw improvement. Ok, that's fine but it still doesn't mean it's more than 35k are affected.

My point is that not all 35k will be replaced, not all who get replaced will see any change in performance and therefore your statement that more than 35k trucks being affected by the recall and changing the CPS is false.

Just because someone disagrees with you does not make them a troll. Make sure you can back up all inclusive statements with undisputed facts next time.
