There was a thread on this that mysteriously disappeared, what happened to it? Since when does TacomaWorld take down entire threads that people have been following and discussing?

This was on a "stock" truck according to what I read.

I agree though, that talking about KDmax or anything else doesn't really add to that thread's value.

From what I remember of reading that thread I think KDMax was discussed as a potential fix to the problem. Unfortunately it seems like a tune is the duct tape of Tacomas. It's the cure for anything and everything, including several terminal diseases.

There were posts blaming custom tunes as well. A number of posts indicates that the problem occurred on stock tunes and on both stock tunes and custom tunes both, tending to indicate the custom tunes were not the cause and therefore unfairly blamed. But it was the discussions as a whole that revealed this.

However deletion of posts discussing the matter is rather disturbing in the interest of not hiding potential problems thus allowing good discussion as occurred and leads one to wonder what other potential problem posts have been “erased”.

whoah; I was wondering why it just vanished as well, because there was absolutely nothing controversial or typical of threads being deleted. Weird that half the comments are gone, including one of mine that essentially said, "interesting read here, following for outcomes"

Yeah, it sure seems to me like every tune that comes out people will shout from the rooftops how it “finally fixes the all the Tacoma’s weird shifting”… until the next tune comes out a few months later and then that one is toted around as the one to “finally fix all the Tacoma’s problems”, etc... Apparently all the old tunes didn’t actually fix the Tacoma’s weird shifting nearly as well as this new shiny one for $100 more than the last one cost. Lather, rinse, repeat. Parking lot tuning has become a fruitful career for some, making pretty big bucks tuning people at $400 a pop for 15 minutes of work. I’m sure some of that goes to licensing fees to the tune writers (or whatever they’re called) and other costs, but still, the price has doubled for tunes in just the last year. And just like your iPhone, your new tune be an old tune in 3 or 4 months when the next +, Pro, mega, 8.0, or whatever comes out. Maybe that has something to do with removing posts, I dunno.

I’m guessing that the moderators have connections to the tuners and are trying to cover up bad PR for their own personal gain/reputation.

Just a guess, but I can’t think of any other reason why they would scrub a thread with a respectful discussion of an ongoing issue.

I’ve been a member for 10 years and it seems like what you can/can’t express on the forum is getting more and more limited.

As observed by the comments there apparently was an expectation of free discussion of Tacoma topics not against the rules by some in this open forum.
My expectation is somewhat diminished now lol.

Sheeples don’t have any expectations however they just go baaaaa. :D
Though I’m sure the tuners appreciate the deletions. Right? ;)

I guess you don’t really care, which is fine. But i don’t think people discussing a relevant issue with our trucks in a respectful manner (abiding by the forum rules) should be edited and deleted. We are just trying to resolve an issue.

For the record I have a lot of respect for those tuners who do research and a lot of testing trying to improve some of the quirky shifting behavior etc of Tacomas. And as I stated earlier I believe the evidence provided in the discussions in the original thread indicates that the acceleration issue is related to the oem firmware programming.
There have been issues with tunes identified however, so open discussion of tunes is needed if problems are to be identified and corrected, not deleted even if it turns out not to be the tune. Otherwise the end result is LESS trust in tunes rather than more due to knowing that posts are being deleted.
That’s all I got on the subject lol
