Unfortunately there are no moulded inserts in the box liner to slide a 2x6 in to stop a few cargo items from sliding up to the cab. I have the Truxedo cover and it would be nice to get to my destination , open the tailgate and have my cargo still by the tailgate!.

Looking to see any innovative ideas that have come up without going over the top like complete storage solutions or slide out drawers ect. Looking for something. like the 2x6 method that can drop in when you need it then get the hell out of the way when you want to haul something that takes up the whole box. A retaining clip idea that anchors to the side rails or box eyelets. Made from Materials that can be picked up at Home depot

I initially got the OEM cargo divider when I got my Tacoma. But the tonneau cover I got, got in the way of being able to use it fully because it blocked the cargo rails. Also I had to install the knobs upside down to get be able to get under the cover as well.

So I eventually switched to a cargo bar from Harbor Freight: It does the job and I'm satisfied with it. In a thread on another forum someone said that the twist style works better. I kind of forgot why but remember thinking that I could see what that poster was talking about. I think either I have issues once in a while the ratchet mechanism gets stuck or it's hard to get it tight sometimes so it doesn't budge. For the most part it does the job and don't have any real complaints about it.

    I have this one. amzn.to/2GRNhPA

I clip the cargo netting to the bar, then then zip tied the bottom to the D-rings on the bed. Keeps groceries and golf clubs in place, and is easily removed.

If you have the bed mat and jam them in there they really dont move.
