I’m looking at buying my first truck and have always loved Tacomas. I found a great deal on a 2002 Xtra cab rear wheel drive with a 3.4liter engine in it mainly because of damage to the rear driver side panel. Not severe enough that there is frame damage but severe enough that it has to be replaced. Where would I be able to find a truck bed that I’d be able to swap in?

    Welcome to the Forum!

Pictures are a great help. What can of real world budget?

Just where does the truck live?

    Look to the American Southwest.

Might be hard to find up there. I’d be looking on kijiji and craigslist as well as any car recycling companies

Depending just how bad it is you might be able to just replace the bed side

Is a Flat bed an option?

I could replace just the panel but the cost of getting the panel, welding it on and then paint matching is much for than a whole truck bed. I considered doing an ozzy flatbed conversion, but yet again it’s quite expensive. I’m a broke college student so I’m trying to find the cheapest and best option

I under stand finding a good bed is going to be difficult.

What is it like returning to Canada from the USA with something like this.

Then you might be up near North Bay.

I haven’t looked into that. Being an 18 year old with a truck currently, that may be tough to do

Good luck I hope things work out

The price comes into play if you can get it cheap enough.

mileage and overall condition read and learn as much as possible about the problems

    is this a 4x4
