2007 Tacoma 4.0 4wd New to all this but my truck has started bogging down/ stuttering when I try to accelerate. Also when in neutral or park and I hit the accelerator is cuts out like it is hitting a rev limiter. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what was done to fix it.

    Start with most likely:

    1) Throttle body cleaning. (Buy throttle body cleaner and clean it)
    2) MAF cleaning (Buy MAF cleaner and clean it)
    3) engine air filter (Change)

    Report back after that.

    4) Spark plugs (change or check gap if it’s been a while)
    5) Fuel injector cleaner

Might be a fuel issue; maybe a clogged fuel filter or a fuel pump that is on its way out.

Symptoms also match a vacuum leak. Check PCV and brake booster lines, among others. Sometimes you can hear a hissing sound: with hood open have someone rev up the engine. Im not familiar with K&N intake; check vacuum connection there.

A couple ways you can verify it's the fuel pump and/ or a restriction to fuel flow: if you have access to a fancy scan tool that will show live data, look at the graph for your oxygen sensor data, both upstream (O2SB1S1 and O2SB2S1) and downstream (O2SB1S2 and O2SB2S2) data will show the mixture going lean when you open the throttle. Alternate method, attach a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail, and you will see a significant drop in fuel pressure when you open the throttle. Hope this helps!
