Awesome you finally replied. So Toyota is buying back your truck. Are you going to get another 2016 Tacoma or something else?

I haven't decided just quite yet. For the frequency in which I tow that trailer which is about 1-2 times a month...to compromise gas mileage by getting a tundra would really be a silly move. I drive 50mi one way to work as it is. I'm still in between.
Due to Toyota taking care of this quickly I still want to be a customer so, although I am looking at the Colorado, Sierra, Silverado and F150....I think I want to re-purchase from Toyota.
I have $300+ wet okole seat covers, running rails, the bed liner, LED headlights, etc etc...and it would be a real pain to sell all that off if I switch to the Tundra. Not to mention I feel like my insurance would skyrocket by getting a v8. There's a lot to consider.
I would love a shot at the Tacoma TRD Pro coming out but I don't believe there's a set release date yet (?).

    However, I do know that if I re-purchase a 2016 Tacoma, I'm getting the 4x4 ;]

Congrats...I'm glad it worked out for you and truly happy you're still considering, what is in my opinion, the best truck around.

Im so glad this worked out for you! It's best not to involve lawyers and work things out when ya can, and in your case it sounds like it worked out very well for you. Glad Toyota stepped up and made you a reasonable offer instead of trying to profit from producing a 'lemon' vehicle. Manufacturers can be real hard to deal with and it sounds like things worked out for you about as good as they could turn out.

Best of luck in your future purchase. No shame in buying a Tundra if ya gonna be hauling or towing heavy loads, even some of the time. I love the way the Silverados look. If you decide you want a GM, I have a friend that works for GM (in Detroit) and bet he can get you the 1% below invoicing + any rebates applicable to truck you are buying. PM me if you are interested in going that direction. I obviously opted for Toyota although I had that option, as well. I understand you wanting to stay with Toyota. Im glad they stepped up to the plate for you.

I will bet if you can wait until the end of the year there will be a heck of allot Tundras begging to be sold. They are stacked up at the dealers out here. Get a good price and maybe offset the price of gas.

Good to hear!! Glad this is getting sorted for you, we were starting to get worried.

ON the truck decision, buy what you need, but make sure that it is something that makes you happy. I've made to many decisions based on needs alone, only to regret what i bought and the upgrading later on in life.

Not so sure... I traded my problematic '16 SR5 with 5K miles on it back to the dealer I bought it from for the TRD Sport. I paid 29,980. It had 5K, and had been in a minor accident. They gave me 29,000 - and dropped the price of the Sport from (sticker) 35,420 to the original 29,980 that I paid for the SR5. Now mind you, they were trying to get me out of the problematic truck, but still...

Well, she left a couple days ago. The actual sit-down buy back process was quick and painless (for the most part!). Sure going to miss that truck....(and of course there was the 2017 TRD Pro sitting out on the showroom lot so I HAD to go look at that!)

Check is cashed and, instead of dealing with another car payment, I bought used. A 4 runner believe it or not. Even the older Tacomas weren't quite what I wanted to spend at this time.
Overall, pretty happy with the process and, although I hope no one goes through these same troubles, I still have a happy ending that I hope helps someone if they're experiencing the same thing.

Found out the Taco will be in an auction somewhere in California. I may go take a look at her and see what she sells for. ;]
If anyone else is looking for aftermarket accessories, clearly nothing fits on my "new" (used) 4 runner. So I have some running rails (local SD pick up only), Wet Okole seat covers, all-weather floor mats and OPT7 LED Headlights and Fogs available in the classifieds section.

Thank you for all your support throughout all this! Glad it's all finally over.
