Last night I heard a car door and looked outside and didn't see anything so I assumed it was just a neighbor. This morning I go to get in my truck and the inside is torn apart, still don't know everything that's missing, I HATE thieves!

Shitty deal. I had a backpack full of sweaty gym gear in my back seat that a guy nabbed. I was more pissed about losing the backpack ($150 5.11 brand)

The worst part is the feeling of being violated.

Exactly, they grabbed about $150 worth of stuff out of my truck, that brothers me less than feeling violated. The truck was right next to my house so they were brazen criminals.

Thanks guys, I don't see any obvious damage at the moment. I really need to wash it and go over the interior to check everything just haven't had the chance yet.

Probably some fuckin' meth head looking for change to get their next fix. Honestly I would rather leave my truck unlocked with a bucket full of loose change outside on the ground than to have someone break into my truck. Unfortunately, the things I would like to do to prevent people from doing this kind of thing are also illegal.

Why is this going to get much worse? What information are you keeping from us? Is it just Tacoma burglaries that will get worse or do I have to worry about my Forester? Are you planning something?

Things have gotten bad and will probably continue to get worse. Some people in this country have lost their sense of morality and values, and others just don't seem to give a shit. I really feel sorry for the generation of kids that will be inheriting this mess.

It's getting worse in places like California where they have AB109 and Prop 47. They're letting people out of prison at alarming rates for 'victimless' crimes like narcotics when, in fact, those are the same people stealing your property.

So yes, it has gotten worse and will continue to get worse.

OP, how'd they break in? My buddy left his truck unlocked a couple weeks ago and got his 45 yanked.

Sorry to hear OP...I know where your coming from, over the last 5 years House broken in to once. Old dodge 2 times and just 2 months ago daughter came home from college and the first night they broke into her car, I still have faith in people but it's getting harder and harder to keep it. I don't understand what makes someone think its okay to take what's not theirs. Oh well good luck and hope nothing else is found wrong.

    Be safe...

Sorry to you too. This is why I leave nothing of value in my truck. I follow the " fellow survivalists who utilize their trucks" thread, and while I like the ideas, I'm not leaving hundreds of dollars or more of quality gear in my truck to possibly be stolen.

Less sorry for your friend. Left the truck unlocked? That just doesn't qualify for an "oops". That's just not responsible gun ownership:crapstorm:. Guns belong on your hip or home in a safe. I wouldn't even trust a console vault. If I left a gun in any less than the two conditions stated, and it was stolen and used in a crime, I couldn't forgive myself. And someone that steals a gun probably didn't steal it to go to the range. I've never understood the term "truck gun". That's just not secure enough for me. Served in the Marines and did a career as a LEO, this isn't even debatable with me, weapon security is paramount.
