Got any more pics of your setup? Is the tent on a bed rack?

Here's a few of the yakima rack setup I put together(inspiration from TW member B737). Currently only two supports, but I'll be adding one more(54in track). IMG_0497-2.jpg IMG_0494.jpg

Went with the Tepui Ayer. At only 95lbs it's easy to take on an off ,an small enough to store since I have limited space an no garage.

It's not the roomyest model out there but it's great!

Nice, looks perfect size for what'd I'd want as well. Nothing too huge, not too hard to take on and off, easier on the bank, and would want to place it on top of a bed topper.

man, the thoughts are rolling through my head..........wish there were more places where im from to get into, but there are a few state parks with different scenery, the beach, and ponds..... may have to put something together, and hit Skyline drive again. havent been there since 5th grade. i dont even know how many years ago that was.

Looks great. I've wanted to do something like that but afraid of lack of strength on the top caps. No issues so far?

    Thanks.

It worked great over the weekend with two people in the RTT. There was a little flex on the bars but nothing extreme. For my setup think three bars would work best. Plus I was able to keep the tonneau cover etc.

Really depends on how much total weight you wish to carry. A bed rack would definitly carry more weight though.

Interesting. I was more worried about the actual bed rail caps. I went to a few places and they said that securing the rail there would not be strong because there was nothing for screws or rivets or whatever to crab.

The caps have done fine to, time will tell. Maybe reinforced rails might be needed down the road. But the plusnuts that come with the rails grab what sheet metal is there beneath cap with the addition of longer screws.

I wouldn't really classify this one as "truck camping" but I figured I'd post this here anyways.

I spent the weekend at a friends Yurt on Pender Island. Although more of a cabin or cottage, the yurt is basically a temporary structure and a glorified tent. We did have power and limited running water but it was still pretty rustic and about as close as you can get to actually camping. I really love the "Yurt" design. The thing had me intrigued all weekend long.

Here's some pictures from my trip.

I live down the hill in Ventura. Had no idea such a cool camping spot existed so close. How hard is it to get one of these sites???

QUOTE="inv3ctiv3, post: 10639688, member: 39411"]Camped at Reyes Peak in Ojai this weekend which was sweet because it was 102 degrees in Ojai but Reyes Peak is like 6-7k feet so it was in the high 70's and actually cold at night, no pics of the truck but it was there I assure you haha
