@PoweredBySoy. Is that by gooseberry falls? I drove around Lake Superior 2 years age. We camped first two nights, but it rained the rest of the week from there on out! Want to reduce the trip again if I get the chance. So beautiful up there.

This was at Temperance River, which is close to Tofte - more near Grand Marais. Gooseberry is beautiful too, but gets real busy during peak season. The whole north shore is fantastic though. Been going up there for over 15 years.

Made a solo run up to the north shore of Lake Superior for a few days. The weather was perfect and I had the entire campground to myself.

I really need my RTT.

Went scouting on some back roads for future camp sites.

After awhile I ended up on this burly road (if you could even call it a road) full of mud pits. Had fun.

After a couple of slow-going miles I came to a spot where the road was completely washed out. Looks like beavers built a dam and destroyed it. I saw old tire tracks going through, and the culvert was smashed a bit - so there were a few trucks that had gotten through. But I used my better judgement and decided to turn around. If I would have had support it would have been fun to try.

I'm going in january... we are already planning it, and i am not looking forward to the night... i need to find me a good heater also, or bring my dog and gf and cuddle up with them both lol

^^^nice! yeah i've been watching this guy on youtube (rudedogii) and he has a lot of cool vids on exploring MNP. He recommends the book (california trails:desert region) i went out and got a copy the other day at Vromans bookstore. solid book. detailed trail guide!
