    Yes.
When was that Littlemule1? I was at Goulding's last Saturday night. There was a guy on a motorcycle in your spot.

The view out of the tent at 05:30 was much better. Just an orange glow behind the distant spires and no human appurtenances. For the cash Goulding's is raking in I would expect better accommodations. Guess you can get away with it when you're one of two dependable, year-round operations in the area.

We also checked out the Grand Canyon:

We had a mix of weather. When the double-burner Coleman stove needs a full disassembly to dry out, it's good to have a trusty back-up (not impressive in the day, but at night it's like a multi-barreled flame-thower):

    Fortunately, Friday was rain-free:

    That's awesome MtnFreak.
Camped in the Rockies on sept 11,Camped at gouldings on sept 12,
Set up tent at t10 incredible spot crazy windy, had to tie tent to the picnic table! Went out exploring, came back to tent full of red dirt. Wife was great, just shrugged and said I guess we're sleeping in dirt tonight. Did antelope canyon tour (Dixie)on 13th (awesome)!
Camped on the north rim on the 13th and 14th. 50mph winds 1st night, 33deg 2nd night . Camped in New Mexico 15th. 3,254 miles in 6days. 1 of the best weeks of my life. We want to go back badly, IL sucks . Grand Canyon is unbelievable! First ever trip west of mo. First time I've gotten my wife to camp in 15 years she hates being in a tent! But she never complained 1x .
    Best trip of my life!

    Yes.
Didn't have time for a N. Rim & Antelope Canyon excursion. Those will have to wait for a future trip. We drove all night from Boulder, Co and reached Kayenta , AZ around dawn. The rain started in Moab and continued until just outside Tuba City. We managed to stay dry most of the day, although we could hear the downpour while we were inside the GC visitors' center. The storm to our west kept building while we were getting ready for dinner that night. Spent about 30 minutes in the truck, then another 30 draining the camp area and making new plans for dinner (soup and sandwiches). Returned through Monument Valley, the Goosenecks of the San Juan, Durango, the San Luis Valley and South Park. Had lunch at the Mesa Verde Visitors' Center. I've visited there before, but we didn't have time to let the GF experience it. So much more to explore!

Did not rig anything up, I carry both labs up myself haha. If it were up to me both dogs would sleep in the truck bed. (They don't mind the space between the tent and bed, and can also keep watch on the campgrounds/alert me if anything is around). My lady has other thoughts on that though and wants both dogs in the RTT.

Grandview campground? I've camped there looking for dark skies, and was very disappointed in how much sky glow Vegas pumps out 100 miles away :(

Not Grandview. I've been there too. Great deal for only $5 per night. There is a lot of dispersed camping in the area and unless you really need a pit toilet there are better places in the around there. My favorite place is now closed since CARMA shut down and came down to the valley near the Big Ears. The area CARMA was in is supposed to be reinstated to group campsites but who knows when that will happen. The altitude in the White Mountains does allow for urban light pollution from many directions. I'd bet you could get Reno too. Still amazing to be up there.
