Took a weekend trip to do some trail riding and visit some natural springs.

What is that square tent? The one next to the red truck.
    Thanks. Nice shots, too.

Not mine. Can't take credit.
But I will take a stab at what it is.
Looks like an awning with the wall attachment.
I have been considering getting one of those.
I like the practicality of it.

    kinda like this:

Thanks, so it attaches like a RTT? Cool, if you like those, huh? :)

It actually attaches to the awning.
RTTs are freaking slick. Have a friend that just got an ARB. Pictures don't do those things justice. The material is incredibly durable. Was very impressed by it.

I agree they are the cat's meow, but only if you like them. There are a few reasons not to.
I weighed the differences and said no, for me personally, but totally understand others liking them. I came really close.
I guess it's like hammocks vs tents. Some do, some do not.

Ha, I am a tent guy .... That kept trying hammocks, and finally found one that works. Warbonnet Blackbird XLC. I have more than a few tents.
Tent, more than one of us. Hammock, just me.

The RTT would keep me from moving the truck while the tent is set up, so that won't work for me.
For an awning I use this very sturdy one. Here it is a few years ago in Vermont at Winhall Brook Army Corps of Engineers campground.

I have a 2500. Is 8x8ft so it's pretty big. Works great for us.

The same shit everyone else has.
The Beaver Tree and Campmate are both cool. I think Im gonna try to piece together a permanent full kitchen set up using a tote.

I havent camped in 5 months and cant remember what all I typically take off the top of the my head. Does anyone have a good link to a checklist of a what they have in their "kitchen"? I wanna set something up that covers all bases for a weekend of camping.

I've always wanted to drive the Baja, set up camp and stare out at the ocean with an ice cold beer in my hand.
