The area is called Alabama Hills and it's amazing . Just a few miles west of Lone Pine on Highway 395. A lot of old Western Movies was filmed in Alabama Hills and also an episode of the original Star Trek.

Sweet, thanks for sharing, I knew it looked familiar but wasn't quite 100% sure, definitely on the list of camping trips for this year.

Damn this thread is awesome. You guys have some killer setups. I have had a RTT for over 8 years, and it used to ride on a Honda Element (yeah yeah whatever), I then built a trailer for it do to the danger of me face-planting off the roof after too much tequila. Last year when my Honda went in the shop, I got a Dodge Ram for a rental the week we were scheduled to go camping. I rigged up a simple bed rack and realized I needed a pick up, badly. Now that I am on this thread, I realize how I was wandering aimlessly all these years. You guys are doing what I was attempting to do, but way better. Can't wait to pick up some bars for the back. 6 inch looks like it is the perfect height for aerodynamics/storage.
One thing that I have not seen with the bed bars is a way to keep contents underneath it dry. There are 203 pages, so chances are I missed it.
