Spent the first week of October camping out of the shell in Colorado. Really can't think of a setup I'd rather have, the only downside might be having to move everything from the back into the front when setting up for the night.

Near me??? That is a town you miss if you blink.
We were just there when we went to the eclipse, which was blocked by clouds at the 'right' time.

I had a feeling when I saw you were in western NC. Yeah that was at the campground up on the mountain a couple weeks ago. We're in Brevard quite a bit for mountain biking. How close are you to there?

The other side of Waynesville, in the mountains. So, a bit more than an hour and a half.

It was born a ground tent, but I forced it to be a truck bed tent pretty early on, so it can now switch between the two at-will. But the beauty of it is not in its identity confusion. It's in its ease of movement so I don't need to ask my neighbor for help taking it off of the truck.

The same shit everyone else has.
Thats how I roll too. I just store all my gear in waterproof totes with good locking lids and slide them under the truck overnight instead of jamming all the shit in the cab. I will put the cooler/any food upfront though. Not really a fan of being visited by bears when Im trying to sleep

On a road trip, in a rest stop, you cannot put stuff under the truck. I just plan for all options.
Last trip, I brought too much stuff to sleep in the back, even though I made a great platform. Not gonna bring as much next time (I hope).
