Just got back from Yosemite. Four days and three nights for the family. We camped like royalty with the Mr. Heater in the tent and a 12v fan for white noise. It was like the Bahamas 75 F all night long in the Kodiak tent. :D

Our neighbors in the campground were world-class. Everyone was kind, courteous and respectful. We were very fortunate.

We swam in Lake Tenaya and the Merced river. Scrambled on lots of granite with my almost 3-year old little girl.

do you know about the camping off the middle fork?

No - I don't but willing to learn!!! The trailer has made me like camping all over again - no wet gear - well not completely since I still use a shelter over the galley sometimes.

    I'll play...

Recent trip to Monache Meadows. I camped 10-15 feet from the Kern River. For free! Just have to get up there. The road isn't that bad. A friend with a Tiger/F-250 was a pathfinder the night before. If she could make it, I could make it.

Crom looks like you had a great time in Yosemite. I like your dual rocket thrusters. You must need them with the load out in the back. Kidding. Mine pretty much looks the same.

You folks doing some fly fishing along the Kern and Merced rivers? That's one of the primary reasons I got my truck was to take it to BLM land and National Forests.

Most in my group did fish the Kern south fork. Only some small catches though.

Looks awesome!! Was it just off a forest service road? I like your setup. I'm assuming the Kern was pretty low this late in the season huh. How was the weather where you were at?

The Kern was low due to lack of rain/snow during the winter and spring. Weather was perfect.

You're welcome. The drivers side tube is one of Joel Cotton's new all-aluminum-powder-coated Road Shower. It has proved to be an excellent addition to our adventure gear. I like being able to wash myself or my kids off at the beach or whenever she plays in the dirt which is a lot! :) My wife likes it because it gave her a warm shower. We were an early adopter of his product and got on a discount. We've only been using it for two months but I definitely can recommend it.

    DSC09655%2520-%2520Copy_cc81d0e405e59f55505afb4cab38953b966c1149.jpg

The passenger side has a 4' section of ABS pipe which stores the tent poles for the Kodiak tent. It's great to pull up to a site and have instant access to the tent parts.

    DSC09656_56caaf11a61dba4bdc1f2ccb43384437cb0fe092.jpg

    Thanks!

I think it's 20,000 BTU per burner. It puts out some serious heat when needed and it has fine controls so simmering is no problem either. I like it too because I can fit a 12" pan and a 10" pan side by side and the stove is light weight compared to my other camp chef stove (Expedition 3X).

Great pics! I'm envious. :D I want to get up to Monache bad. I've seen and heard so many good things about the place. I'm glad you had a chance to get up there. Love the telescoping flag pole!

:) I love the concise platform of the Tacoma. It has just enough space to do what we need for family camping. Yeah, when truck is loaded the leaf springs hate me. I feel good in that I'm getting my money from the Toyota TSB leafs. On the Yosemite trip I had 19 gallons of water packed. Truck still did great though! Yosemite Creek has a quaint 4-mile rutted-pot-holed dirt road to get to it, so my 9-month old actually cut her teeth off-roading on this trip. :D Wife was all worried about shaken baby and all that. I'm like are you serious? Kids had fun the whole time on the bumpy road! LOL

Here are a few more pics from the trip.
