Pretty happy with my Southwest disk. Cooked chasu pork fried rice, burgers, carne/chicken asada, steam veggies, shrimp and scallop fajitas.

How is your awning mounted ? Is it on a bed rack ?

No. It's only up when we're going camping.

Thanks, I’ve wanted an awning like that for a while but didn’t think it was possible with my rtt setup. I have mine in a rci bed rack similar you yours. Is the hight an issue ? It’s not too low ?

It definitely is too low. We typically sit underneath the awning. The high bed rack would have been a perfect height.

What a rad camp site! The wind wasn't too bad being on the beach like that?

Can't beat the sound of waves crashing all night. That's awesome. My wife has really been bugging me about doing a camping trip in Norcal lately. Maybe the Lost Coast is where we need to head!

WindRock Park a few weeks ago. I was coming in as TAR was finishing. Had the trails to ourselves. I do want to get out there next go around for the event though.

Pics are from a two week+ solo camping adventure I went on in Baja in winter 2017. Drove from Santa Barbra to to La Paz and all over the Baja Sur (crossed over the mountains 3x). Built a raised platform in the bed and slept in the back. Epic trip. IMG_0227.jpg IMG_0095.jpg

That looks like a fun trip.
Would like to do something similar.
    And you flew solo?
    Much respect.

    SM!! <fist bump>

Amazing trip, a life changer really.

Yes, I flew solo and I ran into zero issues and met great people the entire way down. Still talk to two peeps I met. Too much is made of the crime/violence down there. If you can manage living in the Bay Area, then you can handle Baja.

Two thumbs up over the Sea of Cortez, somewhere south of Puertecitos (2nd Day in Baja)

    IMG_0056.jpg

If this middle aged white dude with one leg (who speaks no Spanish) can do it, pretty sure most other folks can.
Might he heading down again in December. PM me if you ever get to planning and want some advice on going down.

    Cheers,
    DJM
