I did not spent the night but did stop to cook some soup and let the dog run yesterday. Perfect fall weather in northern Utah. 50 degrees and a light rain to help stamp out the wild fires around here. Reports are that it is snowing up there today. Winter in Utah has arrived. Fall is too short.

Clear Creek. There were about 3 groups camped at the springs, and no room for more than that. We camped closer to Harrison Lake the Friday night and woke up at 6:30AM for a quick drive and dip in the springs. All the tubs were empty as all the campers were still passed out from the night before. Early morning is the best time for a soak to avoid the crowds. :)

Sloquet has gotten way to popular over the last few years. I've been there in the summer, in the pissing rain and even in a foot or two of snow. I'm always amazed at how many people make the trek regardless of the weather. My favorite time of year is late November/December when the snow load is still low enough to get a truck in but high enough to keep the majority of the others out. The springs do wash out fairly frequently in the fall though so be prepared to not be able to soak at all.

He likes it a lot, but the first one ripped when he cinched it over the back bumper. Amazon replaced it no question...

He put one of my cots in the truck bed, and he could sit up in the tent with clearance to spare. Took him about 5 minutes to set up.

I meant to post this here in 2nd gen but somehow put in the 3rd gen. This is where it belongs so here it is.

I would like to share some photos of one of best camping trips the wife and I just had together. We were celebrating her birthday. Some of you will recognize this area, we basically had it all to ourselves for six days. Absolutely one of the best times spent together! Timing is everything.

Went and looked at a Forest River No Boundaries 19.5 model today. Pretty sure I'll soon be trading in my tent and sleeping bag for the world of glamping.

Very nice! People can think what they want about how we camp. Between the Army and being a Girl scout leader for 17 years I have done enough time in tents. At my age and with some health issues I will stick to our very basic little camper folks can call it what they want We are comfortable

I, too, have spent my entire life, since a newborn, tent camping. I'm not old by any means, but my back just can't handle sleeping on the ground anymore.

    Yes. That.

I have hopes for the truck-with-topper. We got a nice thick piece of foam and a 0F Teton double bag; first trip a couple of weekends ago now were encouraging. My wife insisted on getting one of those tents with a wall that wraps around the back of the truck, and I'm now seeing the wisdom - don't have to button up the tailgate, makes it easier to climb out, 'specially for those middle-of-the-night excursions... :)
