Need help as what is the material the interior and hope I can find this at home depot. Also need to do the new insulation. Can someone tell what is this interior and any tips. Ready to do this over the weekend.

Without being there to put a tape on it...I’d say it’s 1/4” hardwood plywood. Lowe’s sells a hardwood maple 1/4” ply but it is pretty spendy. Home Depot sells an economy grade birch ply. It’s not as nice but about 1/2 the price. If it’s thinner than that you could repair with Luan Door skins. They are not 4’x8’ sheets though. Whatever you decide you want to coat it with a good poly finish or a varathane product. Thinner ply is tricky to cut so depending on the tool you are using to cut you may have to brace it so the sheet doesn’t flex. Feel free to pm me if you want additional input.

How were the flies in Big Sur (Los Padres)? Scouted it for camping on a day trip and the kids were not liking the flies (they're young though), they were damn annoying when we were there.

We didn’t notice them at all. Maybe it’s more of a summer thing?

Always inspired to get out more when I see your posts but also makes me miss my 1st gen.

Noticed on your website under gear roundup that you had stopped carrying 2x6s to level the truck. Due to space or are the rocks out that way just as flat? haha.

I stopped carrying the 2x6's just as part of my weight savings. I always found that no matter where I am, there's always enough stuff (rocks, usually) to level the truck, and even though it may be a little dirtier or less convenient to use what's on site, it's not really that bad. So yeah, no more hauling around wood.

Ahh. That makes sense. Weight savings helps the performance of the truck in every department.

I upgraded to a roof top tent trailer recently and have been doing some research on what seems to work well for others as far leveling the tent.

Thanks for posting your trips!
