Well, I learned that I should tuck underneath my topper rack. The wind picked up pretty heavy at 4am and was blowing directly In. Didn’t help that my diesel heater crapped out too. All in all though, was fantastic! Thanks for the deal.

I recently picked up that DAC tent as well and have used it once in the rain for 4 days. Worked great, no leaks. Taking it out again to Death Valley in a cpl weeks. I don't have high hopes for keeping out the cold (not the cold temps you seemed to be in though) but other than that I think it's great!

I too have a DAC and have really liked it!

The only thing that I found it is quite terrible in is wind... I was camping near a cliff one night and the wind hit just right and basically turned the back of my truck into a parachute. It was terrifying! That was with pretty high winds but even in slower winds I find it to be quite loud.

Other than that they are great! Just be careful if you end up in the windy desert or something to maybe put some extra tie down points or something more sturdy than the provided bungee cords to secure it to the truck - Could possibly mitigate both the noise and the...parachuting problems haha

Good thinking. I didn't even think about the wind, and didn't experience that in the rain.... I'll bring extra cords to help tie it down. I generally throw in ear plugs anyway so hopefully that helps some. ha

Yeah it does nothing to keep in warmth.. but then again. That is what the diesel heater is for haha..

As for wind, yeah it did flutter around quite a bit, but I think in the wind I was in, a ground tent would be no better. Like I said too, if I feed the top portion under my rack system, it should be nice and tight to the topper. Potentially even pulled into the gap between the cab which would be even better. Overall, I love this little thing.

One of my favorite spots outside Cody, Wyoming. It was too windy to deploy the awning and too chilly to enjoy the roof top tent so I slept in the teardrop and enjoyed the quiet out in the field. I don't mind truck stops but idling diesels that shake the ground and air tank blow-off valves releasing at intervals don't make for the most peaceful sleep.
