Nice pics! I travel through Elko a t least a couple of times a year on way to and from Sturgis and a few more on wheeling trips. But I've never given thought to anyone living there till I saw your monicer . Must be nice living away from it all:).

Did you build the roof rack? Or did it come with cap? Also how high is the roof line ?
    Very nice!

Awesome meeting you! Beautiful area in your backyard! I must return!0043DCC1-AC84-4745-9D5D-87A46B455FB4.jpgPic.. near the southern tip of the the Sierras

Edit: Great quotation in your signature! I think most if not all of us here would enjoy seeing again... if you don’t mind...
““Here is your country. Cherish these natural wonders, cherish the natural resources, cherish the history and romance as a sacred heritage, for your children and your children's children. Do not let selfish men or greedy interests skin your country of its beauty, its riches or its romance.””- Theodore Roosevelt

I order the roof rack with the cap ,it had the three cross rails and I wish I had order it with four.I added the round tubing for my rain tarps to connect to and added a sheet of 1/8 checker plate aluminum with 1 1/2 angle to support the edges and drilled holes in to tie to. This way I can put any thing up there and tie it on.It's also a good spot to take photo's from or video .The cap height is 29inches above the side of the truck on the outside but that does not include the rack. Here's the only photo I have that shows the top.

Thank you. If you have time, do you think it would be easy to remove if you wanted to to use the truck in another way? I was thinking a pulley system to lift it?
Since seeing this I've been doing a bit of research on the cap as I am considering building one out very similar to yours.
Trying to figure where to put an ARB 37 and how to mount a box on the rear door to house a hot water heater.
Now that you have used yours anything you think you need to add or change?
It looks so well planned I really can't imagine :).

Curious joe. Did your truck come with a back up camera? And where you able to relocate it? I can’t see it in your pictures.

My truck did come with a back up camera and I did not relocate it ,I just disconnected it. It is an option that you can order from ARE but it was pricey. At some point I will get one and install it .I did not take the one out of the tailgate because I want the cap off when not in use .

I have a swingout on my rear bumper with a oem backup camera relocation . If you'd like tomorrow a can snap a pick. It's very simple and I'm sure you can fab one up yourelf. For the swingout you only have to lengthen the one harness with an additional oem harness . Probably find all you need from a junk yard.
