Tried camping solo and camping at a Yellow Post campsite (dispersed camping) at Big Bear Lake, CA on Nov. 16th; my first time doing both. The next morning, I joined some new friends to try out Pilot Rock Truck Trail for my first time. We did the route from Lake Arrowhead side to Hesperia. It turned out we all had TRD versions of our rigs. I thought that was cool.

Fire fueled with fuel that can have ash or embers wasn't allowed due to the extremely high fire dangers here in California. Thankfully, LP fueled portable fire pits with a "camp stove permit" were okay and good to go for the rangers. IMG_5208.jpg IMG_5216.jpg IMG_5254.jpg IMG_5280.jpg

I will be RTT camping this December from Texas back to California through NM and AZ, plan on visiting White Sands and other remote areas. It’s going to be really cold out there, and I am hoping to supplement my RTT comforts with a vented diesel heater like this:

    https://www.amazon.com/TABODD-Vehicle-Digital-Silencer-Motor-Homes/dp/B07JJGZ14F

Anyone have experience with them here? What setup id you use? I am planning to put it in a metal army surplus rocket box (20mm ammo box) and will run the 12v blower for it on my dual battery setup.

Seems very inexpensive especially when compared to a webasto heater.
