The one shot of the videographer shows him with a bike helmet. Yes the fleeing action of biking triggers the response from the Mt Lion as dose crouching over that triggers response to open target zone (back of your neck). Usually you never see nor hear the Mt Lion. It has retractable claws and walks in its own footsteps. Mt Lions have been known for their patience, studying the target for days for the optimal time to strike. Truly apex predator, with risk/reward in mind. But throw all that into the wind when you have a old or hurt or very hungry cat cross your path. I was told by someone in BC to always have a 4” fixed blade at your belt, not bigger you won’t be able to pull it out under attack nor folding blade no time to open it. Being able to sacrifice an arm while protecting your head while reaching with the other and giving the Mt Lion a couple stabs is your best chance of survival. The Mt Lion will reason the risk is not worth the reward with you ;)

I have a feeling more posts might pop up after Overland Expo West next weekend. However, I'm sure there's been a lot of truck camping going on the past few weeks.

Still enough snow to break trail in some areas.
