Also, I may be developing an unhealthy affection for this truck...but Toyota would say this is normal.

I've had alot of issues with cougars in the past and recently. They stalk hard, watch and wait for their moment. Not one has cared that I am married. The wedding band does nothing to keep them at bay. I usually smile and entertain their conversation. Often times I will mess with them just a bit to get them going. Very unpredictable species. Rumour is once your legs are out from under you, you don't stand a chance. Their experience and drive is unrivaled according to folklore.

Haha... situational awareness is key. Gotta spot them before they make their move. Hopefully, you're wearing a hoodie. As the cougar approaches, whisk that hood over your head, squat to get below eye level and creep away as quick as possible. Always be on the lookout for escape routes when out in the wild.

The lady and I took an NPS trip back in March - Carlsbad, Big Bend, and Guadalupe Mountains. I figured we should make it down to Big Bend becuse I wasn’t sure when we’d have time to make it that way again. I’m glad we did because that place is beautiful so we’re planning on going back next year to take the truck on some of the 4x4 trails for some disbursed camping. Granted it’s not the truck but at least it’s a Toyota!

This looks amazing! When I was in NM a few years back, I regretted not going to check out the Carlsbad Caverns. I might have to make a trip out there from California to NM and check out some National Parks along the way.

Well, I'm about 3 1/2 hours away from the caverns and it has taken me about 20 years to make it back so I get you on that one. Totally worth checking out though but when we went one elevator was working so it was about 1 - 1 1/2 hour wait. We hoofed it out the way we came in took us about 25 min, I get hot real easy and the humidity didn't help so I was drenched by the time we got back up haha.

Also if you're in the area and coming from/heading back to Cali gotta make sure you stop at White Sands.

Haha. I'll be sure to dress appropriate for really warm weather. I will put it down on my to do list to stop by White Sands. Thanks once again for sharing.

Last weekend trip to Goose Creek Rd, near Deckers, CO. Finally got to test out the Off-road features on some gnarly forest road off-shoots in the area. Everything checks out!

Technically there were no signs saying you couldn't, but there was a gate at the top that looks like the state park service would close at sundown and open at sunset....so I assumed it was just a day use area.
