I sleep in the bed, usually with a DAC extension but the weather was perfect without it. Just slept with the tailgate down. No wind, no smoke, and a Thermacell. I use a foam pad in the bed for one nighters or an inflatable mattress for multiple days.

It wasn’t the nicest spot to camp, but I was glad to finally try out my new awning for the first time.

Dog House Tent. It was cheaper than most but I couldn’t find any reviews anywhere online. I’ll likely be writing one after a few more excursions.

Well, I appreciate the interest! I got into teepee-style tents awhile ago because I got sick of putting my pants/boots on in the morning drag-@ssing like a dog with diarrhea. Also when its pouring out it's really nice to have some head room. That is a cheapo20200307_090605.jpg Amazon purchase, Vidalidoo is the brand. It's the biggest of my 3 teepees that I use just for car camping. The other two are a mountainsmith teepee and one I had made by some fiend with a sewing machine and his own 3 hands... first picture is my mountainsmith, 2nd is my hot tent teepee that I backpack with. The Vidalidoo and Mountainsmith both have full inners with a floor and mosquito net walls, the hot tent is just the rain fly with fire blanket sewed around the chimney20171227_165354.jpg

Oh and the puzza... my gf makes a crust she learned from a NOLS course in Australia, mix up at home, put it in a ziplock and add water when you get to camp. I get a base of coals, put 2 big logs around the side and stack more logs on top of it to create an "oven". I have a flat edged cast iron, oil it and make your pizza on the cast iron and shove it in the "oven". Works like a pizza stone. Usually just pesto, mozzarella, tomato, onion and add basil once you pull it out.

yeah, yeah, tents are cool. Tell me about that heater/grill/cooker thing you have there. I see a hose so i'm assuming propane not kerosene? Looks pretty cool.

The Ignik heater stove. It's..mediocre. doesn't put out a huge amount of heat. You can boil water on it but the cooking adjustment is pretty limited. I'm thinking of trying a different regulator to see if itll put out more heat. Great for a fall day, might work best with some wind walls under a canopy or something. It's cool, I like it, just..could be better.
