Shakedown run with the new ARE MX topper in Joshua Tree. Not many pics of camping, more of the park.

Offroaded an easy 18 mile trail called Ecology Road Tour to get some more confidence. This is the trail that turns into Beerdoo canyon if you are headed south.

Topper setup with my rol-a-cot setup worked great. I took 1.5” off each leg to give more headroom clearance and it was a good move.

Reflectix window coverings worked great as well.

    Super happy with the setup.

    enjoy the pics.

PS - I had sealed the bed prior to getting the topper installed. I still have some gaps towards the back topper door between sides where the tailgate and the topper meet. Wider than I had expected and need some thicker whether stripping. Despite those gaps, I had zero visible evidence of any dust intrusion for the 3 days out including the 18 mile off roading section.

Nice setup. I keep going back and forth on the soft topper and UpTop setup or the RSi EVOa.
How do you like the Soft Topper?

Softopper was probably the best mod Ive done to this truck.... well the UpTop and Softopper combo that is. The only thing I would do different and may still do eventually is purchase a Super Pacific camper. Cost is my only hold up.

Yeah, I was looking at the GFC, but cost and wait times are my big holdup.

Hi, your Uptop roof rack. How's the quality?, fit and finish?, hardware?. I'm leaning towards the Bravo model. I love the hard-core beefy look.
    Thanks

I don't have experience with any other company's racks. But I have zero complaints on fit, finish and quality of the UpTop. I get a lot of positive compliments on it too.

Awesome, the only thing is I'm curious about are the "feet", they said that the Bravo model has steel feet...I wonder if they meant stainless steel "...?, I'm most certainly gonna go with UpTop!, thank you for confirming the great quality.

Paid $5,000 for this little thing a few years ago - prices have increased but it's great for the price.

Didn’t pay anything near 50k for mine. Regardless, you spend yours, I’ll spend mine.

Took my rooftop bowhunting last year in Oregon. Decided more than two weeks sleeping in a rooftop was a little much so I decided to glamp it up a bit this year for Idaho with a canvas tent and more truck mobility in case I wanted to hunt different trailheads in those early mornings.IMG_20200912_195827_060.jpg 20211014_085102.jpg

What roof rack/ tent combo are you using in the first picture? I want a rtt but cant find a good rack solution to work with my tonneau cover. I like what you have there.

Looks like a Prinsu roof rack and a CVT tent. Maybe the Shasta?

If you are looking for a bed rack to work with a tonneau, KB Voodoo and RCI both have options with tonneau brackets.

Thanks, I like the prisnu rack. I looked at the KB and RCI options, but I don't think they allowed the cover to be opened with the bed rack installed. That's my hang up, I thought about making one, but the roof rack only option is temping.

That depends on your tonneau cover. I have the Bakflip Revolver and I can roll it almost all the way open while my rack is on. Definitely can't with a folding cover. But that's the trade off.

Yep, I've got the backflip, your set up looks great. Makes me wish I would have gotten the revolver.

I've been eyeing those Kodiak Canvas tents for a while now. Seem to always be out of stock though. How are you liking it?
