Thanks, the font is a TJM bumper with Coastal off-road hoops I welded on. I don’t have a write up on it here unfortunately. The rear is an RCI

Trying out the Kelty Waypoint Tarp as an awning alternative.
    Dimensions are approximately 7'x11'
    Peak height 95"
    Weighs 8 lbs packed up

Overall, I like it. It'll never be as quick and convenient as a roof/rack mounted awning. However the cost savings is significant in comparison!

Nice! I plan on using my Kelty Noah's tarp in a similar way on future trips

I have two different sizes of the Noah Tarp and have used them on many trips, mainly prior to getting my awning. The awning is a game changer and I was very reluctant to get one for a long time.

I also used both sizes of the Noahs tarp and have loved them and honestly and would still use them if i didnt become up an awning for free a couple months ago that needs some simple repairs.

Ocotillo Wells this last weekend. My buddy has a small plot of land out there. Slept in the Softopper on top of the decked system. Got down to the high 30s at night but wasn’t to bad in a sleeping bag and a comforter.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
    Looks great!

Man I get jealous when I see all the folks down south camping year round. Where I am, camping starts when the snow leaves the mountain backroads, which is about start of May.

I get out for about 30 off road trips from May to end of October, but then it's time to hibernate. Four feet deep snow on backroads is for snowmobiles.

Here is the highway today at one of my jumping off points to a bunch of lakes where I fish and camp.

Highway cam pic so it is pretty blurry.
