Out on Long Island. Not many folks here. Was nice to have the beach to myself for the night.

this tent is as expected for the money. Not great but I’m dry and comfortable. The air mattress inside was game changer over last weeks inch think sleeping pad.

just got some Stauns and they are worth every damn penny. Anyone have a sub 200 tent recommendation?

I am now obsessed with this one. Stoped into REI to check it out. Nice and compact and the silly little propane growler and carrying case with the Coleman stove adapter is intriguing.

is this 25% off deal this weekend something they do every holiday or is this the first time you saw them on sale. I really can’t justify the expense right now but I also can’t justify it at all at full price.

The sell for me is this seems easier to lug around than firewood and not having to waste green cans for the Coleman. But at the rate I go thru green cans it would take a few years to pay off. If I add in cost of firewood the payoff would be faster.

Costco has a five pound propane tank with a gauge for $50. You can get an adapter for like $10 I think. Depends how bad you want the weather stripping and case

Ended up in an okay but not secluded spot out in Hope Valley after plans A and B were thwarted. Hiked up to Snow Valley Peak the next day.

I saw that too but couldn't find any propane tank to propane stove adapters for <$20-$25. But the Costco one has the empty/full gauge which is nice. I might pull the trigger on this. I have a hand-full of 2-3 night camping trips planned over the next few months. But this is such a splurge type of item. I don't need it. I want it.

Not sure why an adapter is necessary. The hose hooks from the tank to the stove and/or firepit.

If I am not mistaken, the hose that comes with the firecan is a quick connect hose onto the firecan. The one that comes with the tank is one that threads onto the stove fittings like a disposable can.

The hose that came with the Lavabox is the standard threaded type.

Oh I am looking at the Ignik Firecan. You are correct on the Lavabox.

IMHO that's another win for the Lavabox. My mind is blown by the price of the Ignik stuff.

Looks good brother ,… I drove my Tacoma from Massachusetts to Colorado a few years back to do some fly fishing ,… rigged up some vent piping to run from my heater box into my tent so when it got too cold at night I’d start my truck with the remote starter ( it worked well but it didn’t hold the heat in the tent to well )….lol

Geez,..i didn’t realize they sold them at Amazon, I should have put a patent on it and sold them through Amazon myself ( when I showed this pic to my friends years ago they said “ what are you crazy , your gonna die of carbon monoxide “ ,… I had to explain to them it was hooked onto my heater box not my exhaust pipe , it’s the same clean heated air that’s blowing into the cab )….. lol
