Spent the weekend in San Juan & Ouray Counties (CO) - this is one of my go-to spots.

Yet more rain. More mud. In some of the driest parts of America. My family are convinced the 56 to 70 degree weather and pouring rain are following me.

3 weeks ago I was one of the last cars through Yellowstone as they closed the park from rain. We left immediately after i got home. 2 weeks ago we camped colorado, non stop rain. Last week we did a New Mexico loop up until today. And you guessed it.. It rained the entire time.

Now I'm in Creede CO and it's pouring rain. Lol..I think the west needs to pay me to drive around.

Edit: Lunar rock wins hands down in the red sand. Sadly I took these pictures way after we got off the trail. So most the mud had washed off.

New Mexico is an amazing state. My body and soul feel recharged after a good visit

A week and some change late. But I had to get my first night camping before moving back across the country. Hanging Rock State Park is definitely worth it!

I live in the Cody, WY area (Northwest Wyoming by Yellowstone). I’m looking for somewhere to go this long Independence Day weekend. I’m looking around a 6 hour drive or so. And I’d like to ignore the obvious places like National Parks etc. And since I’ve got to show a pic of my Tacoma, here is one from awhile back 4x4ing in the wintertime. 980BB022-4C62-4218-8E3B-2B99A6A46826.jpg

With Yellow Stone being partially shut down, 6 hours in Wyoming isn't very far haha. Bighorn National Forest I have heard is cool, Black hills is right at 6 hours from Cody. If you are more into "back woods see no one all weekend" type of stuff you are literally minutes away from the rockies being in Cody, bring up Gaia GPS or onX maps and just find a dirt road that goes back into the mountains and follow some trails. just make sure to keep logging on so you can follow your path out.

Going up into Montana, Custers NF seems pretty cool too and isnt far from you.
    Also DCLB FTW love it!

Camping in Oregon/NorCal last week...and got to see this beast in person up near Mt. Hood. They said it was the first one out in the wild other than the original white one. They were road tripping to Whistler riding parks along the way. Sick...and a pic of a cool campsite we had all to ourselves with my girlfriend wondering why we don't have a Truckhouse.
