Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
No doubt hey? I was thinking the same thing after seeing that nice setup. Get an old Taco rear end for trailer and canopy on top.

Much cheaper than most alternatives and you can customize it as you like.

I wish I had kept my fathers old setup that was the same, but when he passed I had no place to store it at the time and sold it. We used it on many hunting trips.

    Labor Day weekend trip.

The North Rim is incredible this year due to all of the rain and the cooler temperatures

We got invited to the top of the tallest active fire watch tower in the Southwest, possibly the US (according to the guy at the top), ~160 ft tall. It was really interesting to listen to him explain how they handle rough weather, the loneliness, the height, etc.

Hey, was it crowded over there? I was thinking of heading that way but assumed it would be pretty busy. Great pics. Love the fire tower!

It was busier than I am used to, but we were able to get a pretty solitary spot due to the size of the camping area. Only a lone truck could fit there, and most everyone else had larger setups. But yes, crowded in a sense.

Away from the edge? You would have been really alone. It just gets crowded at the points.

I had a great long weekend hunting grouse in the Monitor Range with my husband and his buddy (a fellow Taco owner). My husband takes pics and hikes; his buddy is new to hunting and I've never hunted that range before - loads of new to me terrain up there. We camped at the boundary of the Table Mountain Wilderness around 8200 ft amsl - we escaped the heat somewhat, but wound up deploying all shade options. I found a ton of lithic fragments and a broken arrowhead too! (Obviously, I left it and am turning the coords over to my friend with the USFS). Great camping, and only saw two other parties in 4 days.

Camp and ride Stanley, ID. Was supposed to have new tires before this trip, but the timing didn’t work out. Stuck with the weeny stockers, at least they pulled decent fuel mileage.

Don’t have the new truck setup like my old one just yet, (old one has a Wildernest) a cot will have to do for now. Trying to decide on another pop up truck camper, or trailer.

That’s pretty cool. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dirt bike with a chainsaw mount before. I used to ride a lot when I was younger. Now it’s just mountain bikes for me. I do occasionally put a small battery chainsaw in a backpack for spring clean ups though.

Fire has decimated the forests here, almost mandatory equipment. Have cleared 70 down trees in a 10 mile stretch before. We have a pretty good OHV program here, Idaho Trail Rangers do a lot of work, plus hundreds of volunteers like me to keep the trails open. Otherwise they would disappear.

Used to be heavily into mountain bikes, raced and all that, but moto has kinda taken over. Heading to Washington by Mount Rainier at the end of the month.

This ride ended up with me having to spend the night on the trail. Got the bike over the edge, and couldn’t get it back up. Had an emergency blanket and that was about it. Bare minimum camping at its best!

How does that pull with the camper shell? I have considered putting one on my trailer, but wasn't sure if it'd catch a lot of wind.

Love the matching trailer! Mine is a Toyota "Pickup" of unknown year. I originally used a tent on top but the tent wasn't quite the advertised size and didn't fit. I applied poor man's fiberglass (wood glue and canvas) to the board prior to the tent so to keep things simple we just tossed the shell on top. The shell catches wind for sure but it's not terrible and it's well worth having a hard shelter that's ready to go. It's a taller profile than many shells and was designed to fit up to the cab pretty tightly which makes it worse than other shells from an aerodynamics standpoint. The "upstairs" is strictly for sleeping and the "downstairs" has the table, countertop, power, storage, etc. duties. I need to do a walkthrough thread when it's more or less done. Do you have a build thread on your trailer?

Sounds like that may work for me. I use to sleep under my shell with a decked system as the "bed".

    1.jpg

I even have a super tall shell sitting around I might try. Although, I think it may catch too much air
