@ETAV8R Exactly what I was expecting too. Strange enough, people kept rolling in every hour or so. I think the young locals use that as their hangout spots for partying/drinks/etc when the park ranger leaves the front entrance around sunset. When I left before 5am, I drove by at least 7 places with their camp gear setup.

I wasn't the only weird one out there.

It is a Livin Lite Quicksilver 6.0, they are no longer in business. Thor(trailer company) purchased Livin lite in 2014, and stopped production in the beginning of 2016 if i am remembering correct. They are hard to very difficult to find though. Im wondering if another company will take on the simple design for production, as it would be perfect for a multitude of campers and their limited ranges of tow vehicles(trailer stock weight is 690lb unmodified), and were under $7k w/ taxes new.

Just back from a 4650km loop. South through Washington/Oregon to Crater Lake OR. Then east through Craters of the Moon to Grand Teton and up into Yellowstone. Finally back through Coeur D'Laine ID, Leavenworth WA, across the border and home.

Even with a trailer as light as ours it's interesting how much the Tacoma struggled going east over the Teton pass. Watching the trans temps and giving it all the gas I could only maintain about 65km/h uphill. Coming down the other side I ran into some major brake fade and had to pull over to let the brakes cool and turn up the trailer brakes a fair bit.

did you have campsite reservations through southern oregon near crater lake?

im planning a trip now and have a number of campsite reservations, but am unsure about dispersed camping down there.

At age 70 I have to get up at least once during the night to pee. That height is a bit more reasonable for me rather than a roof top set up. I only graduated from sleeping in the bed of my truck
to an RV 2.5 years ago.

Yes I had everything reserved months ago so we could stay in the state parks.

Mazama Village for Crater lake. No services at sites but the campground was pretty nice and the solar+generator kept my batteries charged for devices and the Wife's CPAP overnight.

The other fun part is averaging only 13.4mpg over the trip :)

Was definitely appreciating the states with lower fuel taxes than others.

Just did some dispersed camping outside the park over the weekend. I was about 10 minutes from the North entrance. There was plenty of forest roads with dispersed spots on HWY 138.

Not sure where you're coming in from but as long as its forest land, I'd expect there to be dispersed spots, especially close to the park borders.

thats what i was hoping for. i have the first half of my trip booked at different spots along the coast. i was hoping to be able to leave the last half a little more open since we would be east of I5 and more in the mountains. this would give us some flexibility as far as what we want to do and if we want to stay in one spot longer.

a coworker gave me some gps to a couple spots on 138 and on 62. sounds like there are plenty of options
