    Just the basics
Camped there ten years ago with cadre of friends. Swam, canoeing, and almost drowned in nearby Lake Feaucherie. Good times and life experiences.

That looks awesome! That would be my ideal camp spot. Water, woods, mountains.. Not much else you could ask for.

How did you almost drown? Did the canoe try to kill you? I've flipped a short canoe in the middle of a lake in FL. I was lucky to have another canoe with us. It was a complete bitch to get the water out and flipped over, AND get back in. Oh man...

Over estimated my swimming abilities in my 40s and swam out to that island. Coming back I was spent.

Dang man. Glad you made it back to tell the tale. The waters around here are so cold that if you got pulled away from shore in a current, that could be it. Muscles stop working in the cold as shock sets in and down you go. Every year handfuls of people drown inner tubing on hot days where they underestimate how dangerous cold water can be. It almost happened to my brother and I at a natural spring in Tallahassee a long time ago. It just sucks all the energy out of you.

I can only camp in Fall/Winter. Trying to sleep when it's hot and with insects has found me running for the nearest motel. I do like a bit of chill in the air though.
Definitely some beautiful scenery in this thread.

My normal camping spots never get that hot, picture above is 6000 feet and I camp up to about 8600ft. Can be 100 in Reno and 70 up there.

Oh ya, elevation is key. Always a 20-30 degree difference between the high country and the valley here.

But, if you have enough money, they do make portable AC's now, ha.

Even though camping in the truck was not bad, the wife and I have decided to go in a different direction in the future. Anyone looking for, or know someone, looking for a setup like I have, please get in touch with me. Spent a total of about $6K on the whole rack, RTT, etc., and everything is still in great shape except the USB light strip inside the tent. I forgot to unplug it from the power source before closing the tent and broke the connector. Should be very easy to replace though. I was asking $4250 but all serious offers will be considered. I can provide more pictures to anyone interested.

FSR Evolution V2 RTT (rooftop tent) $3495
    Yakima Outpost HD Rack $899
    Yakima HD Crossbars $319
Yakima Short Bed Side Bars $239
Yakima Recovery Track Mount (2x) $119 ea.
    RotopaX RX-LOX-PM Mounting Kit (x2) $73.40 ea.
RotopaX 2 Gallon GEN 2 Gas Tanks (x2) $84.95 ea.
Rhino USA Recovery Traction Boards $149.90
    YakAttack Horizontal Tie Downs $19.95
    YakAttack Vertical Tie Downs $19.95
Yakima Eye Bolts (x4) $29 ea.

Incredible savings for almost new setup.
Will sell RTT individually for $2750 but won't sell the rack system until RTT is sold.
Mounted on the back of a Toyota Tacoma.
Can be delivered in the general Dallas/Fort Worth area or details can be worked out for other parts of the country.

Great setup. How did you score a flippac? Been looking around for one for a while.

Keeping the setup simple... ground tent, chair, cooler, and kitchen box.

IMG_0943.jpg IMG_0944.jpg Tried out the tent and mattress with my 6 year old daughter a few weeks back. Had the first crazy storm of the season. The tent didn’t move, we stayed dry and she slept through the thunder and lightning.
Heading out on Wednesday till Sunday but will have the tent extension as well as mattress extensiin. Hopefully I remember to post a picture. Riding Mountain National Park, Manitoba, Canada
