yup, Moonshade. I used to have a Tepui awning w/ awning brackets but I dug that this one is much lighter, and also able to be set-up pretty much anywhere.
I did have an issue with sand getting into one of the 2 extending poles (after this camping spot) and I can't get it to extend now, but haven't quite had the time to troubleshoot it yet.

Let me know how you like driving around with it mounted on top your canopy. I have mine mounted on a mid level bed rack, but am debating moving it to my canopy for the extra storage space.

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
Cleaned up a pile of trout. In all we got 4 species. Rainbow, Brown, Golden and Cutties. Fishing at between 8,000 and 10,000 feet just behind Steamboat CO... we saw 2 moose, 6 deer, 4 coyotes, 2 fox and one UFO....

One has to wonder how FISH got into lakes and streams at over 8000 feet elevation.
The ancestors must have had wings.

not op but i went from a rack to canopy with my tepui tent.
its not as bad as i thought it was gonna be. it felt like a sail the first week or so but i got used to it. the extra weight was also noticeable at first but i got used to that also. an add a leaf or replacement pack will come in the next year or so.

i put some weather stripping around the outside of the doors from some post i saw on here awhile ago. it helps a little with wind noise. i also have the visor things over my windows that add wind noise, so the tent isn't as obvious in terms of noise.
I went from tent on pretty much cab height rack to billie bars over tonneau cover to full canopy.

How’s that attached to your soft top, magnets?
….they’re strong enough to hold in a breeze?

Yes, when I took there’s into HomeDept to find match. The employe was standing next to them & I stuck them together & couldn’t hardly get apart. I actually use one of them when I open back every time to hold on roof, i don’t roll & clip.

Took my '23 DCLB on it's first adventure. Built the stickied sleeping platform and threw a Kodiak Canvas on top. Couldn't be happier with the setup!

The only real rock on the entire beach, and you hit it!

    ;-)

Anyone running one of these misting fans to keep the heat away?
