Allenspark, CO at almost 9,000 feet.

I froze my little ass off Sunday night.

My propane heater didnt work. Had the wrong hose.

Getting a LifePO4 battery, a solar panel, either a diesel heater or an electric space heater and a battery box with usb plugs, cigarette lighter plugs and electrical outlets, plus a 20A Pro Charger as a backup charging source. I'll never be cold again when camping. (FYI: A warmer sleeping bag wont help, I can't sleep in cold air without getting sick all the time so the environment I sleep in has to be mild or warm.)

As someone who needs a cool environment to sleep I completely understand the parentheses part, but still want to ask if your sleeping bag was suited for the temps? Concerned less about comfort and more about literal survival. Just something to consider.

It was a hand me down so I'm not quite sure. Maybe a 40° bag? It was 37° that night. Ugh.

I had 0° Bag this spring that was Too much.. shopped around & found North Face, Dolomite bag. It’s rectangle & three bags in one goes down to 15° But can unzip it & change around temps. Used it other night prob got down to 28° & had 0 bag draped over top of us & was fine.

North Bend Campground in Boydton, VA. Didn't realize that we'd get the sunset like we did. Trying to convince the wife a tear drop would be a game changer...

Nothing like being smoked out by burning timber while camping....
If I had my way about it camp-fires would be banned in these parks - never understood the 'camp-fire' thing.

We picked this up pre-covid for about $5,000 and the wife tricked it out.
They are produced by 'Runaway Campers', a bit more expensive now, and they fall into the category
    of less-is-more....

I suspect it has more than paid for itself in hotel bills over the years. We've taken it on many excursions
including a 16-day stint to YellowStone and recently a 5-day stint to Monument Valley and many more trips
    in between.

Before cabinet doors were installed:... solar generators live in the bottom 2 left sections.

I am just beginning to dive into the world of campers, has the possibility to be a rabbit hole... Your runaway looks pretty sweet, I've seen a few of those and folks seem to love them, brand new they're pushing $7k depending on the model and amenities now. I'd like for it to fit in the garage (hence a tear drop) and really want the prep area/kitchenette at the rear, plus A/C for the pup when we take off without her.

I've looked at the Cadillac of what we'd want (Nucamp Tag XL Boondock), used little guy tear drops, bushwhackers, and sunrays, hell, I even really like they Intech Luna's but they're way too much camper. Regardless, I think we're going to give some a shot on Outdoorsy/RVshare and see what we like/dislike and go from there!

Since everyone likes pictures, here's one:

It's a Little Guy Silver Shadow on a Rough Rider frame. (To my knowledge, they only built 3 like this). It's been towed 45,000 miles over the past 10. years. Independent of hotel costs, it's much more fun to camp on long road trips.

If you have some time kill, and are curious, I have a link to my build thread in my signature.
