Should have done it years ago. So nice to keep my fly-fishing (often wet) gear under...keeps everything up above nice & dry.

When I had my Tundra, I had a bed drawer system. One drawer for Flyfishing gear, one drawer for camping gear. Made it myself, but it weighed a lot. My Tacoma is a 2.7L and weight is a concern, plus headroom. I now have a shelf in the back plus storage shelf in backseat, it works.

Same here. My previous truck was an F150 and I built my own with drawers and it was also heavy. Also didn't want all that weight in the Taco. This system along with totes works just fine.

Speaking of awnings, I've been drooling over the Shadow Awning from AluCab for awhile now about a month ago I ran across a gear company from Venezuela called Arawak (https://www.arawakcamping.com/). They make essentially the same awning for half the price - so after a few too many beers one night I pulled the trigger and ordered it - $599.00 with free FedEx shipping to ConUS. Once it arrives I'll give a good test and write up a review.

Just a quick suggestion... If the cord that came with that isn't "glow in the dark" then you might want to think about getting some kind of glow in the dark tape or something to put on those lines. If you don't, then that's a quick way to get some whiplash on the neck, trip and fall, and get tangled up in at night- especially if you have kids.

Ask me how I know that...

^^^ Good for you man. I CAN'T WAIT until my son is old enough to go on adventures with me. He's 3 now, so he'll start sitting in the duck blind with me in just a few years!

My kid and I got out this past weekend in Northern Nevada and did some ghost town and wild mustang hunting. Had an amazing time although the weather was very cold for the season and we even got some snow yesterday. Stayed at the Washoe Lake State Park. Beautiful state park. I like to camp out in the remote locations but my kid requires I be near some nicer amenities so the state park it was. This place had great hiking trails on the dunes and up into the hills.

Great park...gorgeous views...will definitely go back! First trip using the Softopper and we had a blast!! Love it......the simplicity of sleeping in the back of the truck just makes packing and going so much easier. Thank god again I got the long bed!!

    Enjoy your day TW

Finally got my CVT RTT. Tested it out this weekend with the wife and two munchkins. It was a tight squeeze, but we all managed to fit inside. Spending some time on the coast isn't a bad way to spend a weekend. :)

It's not glow in the dark but bright green, I do however tie some flag tape on . Also place table and other gear in the trip path.
