Hey guys, I'm looking for suggestions on a outdoor truck cover that will fit my 2007 tacoma with a camper shell on it. I have to leave the truck outside for an extended period, maybe up to a year so I was planning on putting a tarp over the regular cover to protect against sap from the trees.

the cheapest ones are like 50-60 and they're thin as fuck. you cant go wrong with a nice big tarp, especially if you have one laying around, it wont cost you anything.

Just watch those blue plastic type tarps. The material is abrasive and will create rub marks on your paint. A boat owner friend made the mistake of covering his boat with one and had to repair the gel coat in the spring.

Maybe a layered system with the inexpensive cloth cover under the heavier tarp would be best.

I’d also prep the rig against rodent intrusion if it’ll sit for a while.

Yes, my uncle put his car under a blue tarp and in the spring had to repaint the car from the wind buffeting against it all winter. I plan on putting a cover on it and then a tarp over the top of it to protect against sap and heavier rain storms. What do you suggest for the mice?

Covercraft will make a high quality custom cover for you if you contact them, but it will be $$$. For the mice, search for threads - you screen off the cowl opening that's under the cover plate beneath the windshield wipers. I had a mouse get in this way a few years ago and have since screened it off with expanded metal.
