Hey! I'm shipping and storing my Tacoma back home to Texas. It's already getting due for a paint job so I'm looking for a good cover. Do any of y'all use a good cover that can be used outside? Something that's big enough for the truck is my main concern.

Specs: Lifted 05 DCSB with a camper, 33s, and a Thule Roof rack system.

I would do quite a bit of research on this before pulling the trigger. From what I have read, using covers outside can oftentimes cause issues with the clear coat from condensation that builds up under them. Your best bet would be to get a car port of some sort like mentioned above imo. I was considering one too until I read about people having their clear coat ruined from using them

I see a cover as completely useless, what are you going to do while you're driving it out in the same sun / weather? Go with a high quality wax and ceramic coating.

any car "cover" no matter HOW well its tied down rubs your clearcoat. Period end of story...and DOG forbid you get any grit or sand under it....bye bye new paint..put it in a climatized storage or yeah garage, car port, car capsule.

very good points fellas. I didn't really give it much thought of the damage it can do if sand gets trapped under the car cover. I'm definitely going to look into a car capsule. I'm currently storing a s2000 with a cover but it's in the garage. It mostly just keeps the dust off it but never thought of the damage it could if it was outside.
