Not too big if you have a spare part on hand... same as if you broke a belt.

Who goes out in the bush without being prepared???

    Oh, wait.......

    Workin' on it....
I would say sensors are one of those things that people don't regularly carry a spare of compared to CV shafts or belts

Sounds like 3rd Gen owners should also acquire a good satellite phone....

Now people are supposed to pack extra sensors for a backwoods adventure? What a great truck.
The very notion of this goes against everything we've ever been taught about reliability. What's next? Spare differentials and a stock of injectors?

Maybe tow a 2nd Gen behind your 3rd Gen if you head out into the back country...safety first

    Couple of nuggets........

Many parts can fail that will not allow starting, push or otherwise.

And if your battery is the problem, you better hope it's not because the alternator has died, or that the battery has an internal short. ECUs do not like faulty circuits. And while the vehicle may run, it may run weirdly, and it may toast up the ECU. BTDT.

BTW, this has nothing to do with Toyota. This is all ECU vehicles. You know, like since the 80's.

Bring whatever you think you might need. Better to get back on your own then have to have others out looking for you because you didn't plan right.

More like Toyota didn't plan right. I'm all for self responsibility but these brand new truck's shouldn't have failures new into the model year requiring them to be towed.

Toyota didn't plan on a bad batch of sensors..... it happens to any manufacturer now a replacement is available. Owners can pick one up if they think they got a bad one.

Jesus you like to beat this drum despite not having a truck in the mix.

I'm done here, it's like talking to a wall.

Toyota just got lazy with Vendor/Supplier Subcontract Management and Quality Controls.

It's Toyota's weak $2.5 million budget for all engines in North America. Sounds like poor budget planning from the start. They could have acquired better suppliers if they forked over more cash.

You know me. I have my own drum solo at the moment:rimshot:
