Hey everyone i am new to the forum and i have looked all over the place so hopefully this is not already posted somewhere. I am looking into buying a 95.5 v6 4x4. The truck did not come with a/c. I live in south GA so that is NOT an option. Anybody know what it would cost to get it installed or weather or not thats something to try on my own. I am no mechanic but i'm ok with a set of tools. Any help would be appreciated!

Compressor, condenser, evaporator, dryer, hard-lines, brackets, possible new crank pulley, wiring....you're in for a headache.

There are after-market add on AC units, ones that hang under the dash. They work but look like crap.

    Oh and welcome to TW!

Maybe find a truck that was totaled for rear-end or rollover reasons, pull everything from it.

honestly if you need a truck with air conditioning why dont you hold off on buying this truck and wait a little longer for a truck that has everything you want in it?

I have been shopping for about two months now and to be honest i am on a very small budget... less than 5k. I really would like to get a 4x4 v6 and 5spd. The truck i am looking at has a camper shell already and thats a big plus! (i know i will look like a grandpa! :D) However i think i can get it for about $3800. Think its a good deal?

I got a 96 with air and all options for $5900 if that helps at all. I say see what you can get a a/c system for "check toyota, websites, and junk yards," and see if its a good deal.

I agree, Hold off and keep looking for a Taco with factory A/C. You might have to settle for a 4 cylinder which is not a bad idea.
