Truck driver b.s.

Waiting on the spreader to come over so we can load him up. Friggin beautiful day to stand out in a corn field out in the middle of nowhere!

That's fine with me! Stinks a lot less! Just gotta avoid the clouds that come off when unloading into the spreader!

Half way done for me!

 

Crap. Off work for the next week and a half. Realized my medical card expired on 2/23! Soonest I can get in is the 20th. HR and DMV have always let me know ahead of time.

 

Company has a contract with the medical company that issues our medical cards. Was able to get me in next Thursday, woo-hoo! I can eat a couple days no work, wasn't looking forward to having to burn some vacation days.

 

Same thing happened to me a while back. Company usually let's me know when I'm about to expire. This time I got a letter from the secretary of state, which is our dmv, and it said my card was expired. Well I got in right away same day and only lost a couple of hours.

 

Well I got my truck back today, it's shit! Clutch engages as soon as you start to let up on it, I mean immediately. There is no smooth transition, it's on or off. Not sticking as bad but still sticking.
And now something is binding up in the steering. Had new kingpins last summer but it's never been right. Now when you move the wheel it stays there, doesn't return to center, very annoying and hard to keep it tracking straight in the construction zones. I gotta talk to the maintenance guy and get it back in.
I'm pissed.

 

What is it with clutches anymore?! Don't the tech schools teach it anymore since trucks are mostly going auto? I've heard so many stories in the last year (my truck included) about guys that 'just can't get 'er adjusted right'.

 

I get the hump day. But in our jobs isn't everyday a hump day .

 

Yeah but now I'm actually closer to the weekend!

 

You suck! I want that schedule, lol.

 

Yeah I got one of those coming up in June. Taking off alone on my motorcycle for a few days ride of northern Michigan. Gonna try and stay off the highways as much as possible.

 

Well I dropped my truck off for service again. Now I'm in one of our cat trucks. Automatic, just wierd, I keep stomping on the imaginary clutch pedal and reaching for the shifter, lol.

 

I feel for y’a, last few days was in our automatic with an end dump. So happy to be back in a 3 petal truck.

 

I've just got my fingers crossed that this truck doesn't have any issues before mine is done. These cats have been major p.i.t.a. They can't keep them on the road, constantly breaking down, that's why I stay in my old worn out piece of crap freightliner, it's had its issues too but far less than these cats.

 

Got told to it's too windy to spread fertilizer so head back to the shop to wait to see if things improve. Of course it's been over an hour and still no word. Watched the same safety video almost 2 twice
Kinda hoping they send us home as it's a nice day outside
