Truck driver b.s.

Yup, just had an idiot truck driver parked right in front of the docks so no one can get in, he's sitting there doing his paperwork or whatever. So I squeeze around the inconsiderate ass and give him the look as I go by and then I get in the dock anyway. As I'm backing in then he wants to go, I took my time backing in and gave him the look again. No courtesy whatsoever. Whatever happened to the driver code?

Why I have avoided Interstates as often as possible the last 20 years.

 

Gotta love that buy 50 gallons of fuel go take a shower then sit down to eat move the truck 3 hours later.

A real shame about those air leaks!!

Good morning boys, got a parade in the wrecker this morning. The normal heavy op hasn’t cleaned the dust out of the truck in a long time so I brought some cleaning stuff so I’m not terribly bored while we stage up.

 

Started at 8 am today, I'm getting unloaded now, I'll be done by noon.

 

I only ran over a few small children and scared 1 grandma with the horn.

 

I'm 51 years old. I looked into a CDL school here in Roanoke last week. I was actually thinking about a feeder driver job for UPS.

 

Also look into the local colleges, some of them offer cdl trading very cheap compared to a truck driving school. Some community colleges it's free or very minimal cost. One advantage to a truck driving school is the instructors are usually former drivers and you can get some real world information from them.

 

Go for it Roanoke is a great central part of Va. you can go any direction and still get home that day. There's also a lot of other carriers located there too.

 

Feeder is a great job however hard to get hired off the street and you start off on call and making low 20s.

That used to be me...for the past couple of months, I'm wide awake @ between 5 and 5:30. Problem is, I don't go to bed until 11, makes for long days.

 

They don't teach it in Russia or Pakistan or ...

 

Going to work for UPS the trailer side is the best.

Though things do change Those drivers had it great back in the eighties .

Drive half way drop and switch trailers at a good place to eat.

your license is clean of moving violations going back 10 years ??

 

My DL has been clean for 30+ years. I am +5 with VA DMV.

 

Vacation over, back to work tonight.
