Well what a surprise, show up for work and my rental truck and trailer are gone. Go pick up my truck from repair, go pick up rental trailer that's only a tandem. On my way back to my yard to find out what my first load might be. 2 hours of b.s. and nothing hauled yet. Oh well, new year same shit.

I drove my truck for 15 miles today, hauled one load and moved a load to another building. 5.5 hours and I was off, and so where the other drivers. I'll take that because I know it's going to go back to normal long days soon.
So I went to Lowes and bought some hand tools. I feel better now, lol.

Sloped ground. Looks like he slid under too far to one side when trying to hook.

First major accident I've ever been in, scared me shirtless. No one else was involved or hurt. Mechanical failure, ripped the steering wheel out of my hands. There was metal contact on the concrete well before there was tire marks.
Those are wheel studs, not gravel.

Totaled the truck and brand new rental trailer. I only had 37k in the box. Back window blew out and I got a glass shower.

I'm not positive but I think the spring hanger let go.

This is why you don't keep a 17 year old truck on the road doing heavy haul. I'm grateful to God I am still alive, walked away with just a sprained thumb. 3 witnesses confirmed to the state trooper I was only going 25 to 30 mph on a 35mph ramp. Trooper did a level 2 inspection and found me not at fault. I'm so thankful no one else was involved or hurt.
So that's how I get a new truck drivers, lol.
But seriously the troopers called my boss and told her I was not at fault. She texted me and confirmed they know I wasn't at fault and I keep my job. Hopefully this is a wake-up for my company.

Man it really shook me up. Was really scary, couldn't steer the truck. I was just helplessly along for the ride. 2 of the witnesses had to help me out of the truck, passenger step was about 6 feet off the ground. I couldn't get out the drivers door. I still can't believe the cab didn't roll.
