Truck driver b.s.

Boss is gone so the last run of my day should be good, lol.

 

It's FRIYAY! And I don't have to work tomorrow.
Yesterday morning was rough, a couple inches of snow during rush hour, not a plow or salt truck in sight till about noon. Roads where a mess, speeds on the freeways where about 30 to 35 mlh and I was running heavy. I got in the slow lane and stayed there and let the super truckers roll on by. I got my job done and went home at the end of the day.
I'd be lying if I said the accident isn't always on my mind.

As far as the wreck it will always be with you it does get better.
We had freezing rain last night. Malli usually jumps upstairs well we slid all over the deck.

 

Finally back in a truck after about a week and a half being shut down. It’s just warm enough to not snow and not have frozen roads but cold enough that the snow hasn’t melted and turned any dirt into mud and muck. Boss says don’t be doing anything stupid because one wrecked truck or messed up project is going to cost more then a few weeks of being shut down.

 

Been almost a week of freezing rain/snow shit show. I hate throwing chains unless it's into a ditch. Company buys shitty chains, blew up 3 of them today.

 

Took me twice as long to get to my drop today. Spending the night here, not enough hours left.

Truck been in the shop last couple weeks. Just found out it's toast. They're not going to put any more money into it. This sucks.

Don't think so. Probably the one I've been driving the last couple weeks.

 

Mine laid down tonight. Wasn’t like I told them that there was a problem last night. Sent me to get the day cab which wouldn’t build enough air to fill the airbags or even shift into the high side. Wasn’t like I told them about that on Wednesday. I was kinda pissed. Just sat on my Tacoma and let the other guy have at it lol. My night to work over so I got a mess now. Oh well.

Yup, off for the weekend and staying inside except to go get groceries and cat food. Warm up and rain everyday next week so hopefully all the snow will be gone.

 

Can’t let the cats go hungry.

 

Managed to get enough time off to reset my hours for the week, barely. People bitch about the regs, but imagine how much more they (employer) would abuse us without them.

 

Yeah, not much choice. $880.00 fine if caught.

 

Yep I remember hearing dispatch saying I can work you 14 hrs.
Remember when fmcsa said you must take 30 minutes by the 8th hr. That made dispatch mad because they had to work harder to cover pickups because drivers would have to be on break at pickup time. Then when they changed it back they were oh yeah you can take your break when you get done. 12 hrs later your taking break just before you go home.
I told them I'll take my break when the employees manual said to between the 4th and 6th hr. I do understand that sometimes you have to stretch that out. But I don't want to make it a habit.
They push you harder and harder so they look good.

 

Stretch that break once then it becomes twice then all of a sudden it’s why are you taking a break right now…
