Good morning driver's 57 this morning headed up to 89 later today. Normal 30 degrees swing. Have a great safe day and stay hydrated.

 

First day of summer, longest day of the year. They start getting shorter now.

 

Well 8 hours today and I'm off till Monday. I had to take a personal day Friday to take my girl in to get a camera up her butt, lol. I've done it twice it's her turn now.

It's actually going to cool down a bit for us, highs in the low to mid 80s, that's way better than 90s. One day might be in the 70s!

 

Good morning guys. This is going to be a lengthy PSA but since there are a lot of us here who are about the same age it needs to be said. Let me just start with I’m going to be fine but I did come close to dying this week. So……

DO NOT IGNORE CHEST PAIN!!!!

I did for a day and then, after my first doctor visit, for a weekend. Started feeling bad last Wednesday at work like I had severe gas or indigestion. Got through the night and felt better the next morning before it flared again as i was getting ready to go to work. Ended up staying home and seeing the doctor the next day. After checking me over and an EKG he agreed that it was probably something gastrointestinal or a hiatal hernia and turned me loose. I was to follow up with my doctor on Monday.
Had more pain on Saturday but I was sure it wasn’t my heart. Felt better Sunday and Monday morning. Called my doctor to see about a follow up but they were apparently slammed and didn’t get a return call until after hours so we left it that I would see her on Tuesday. Meanwhile my wife had talked to my daughter who told my son in law who works for a cardiologist about what was going on.
He started blowing my phone up urging me to get to the emergency room asap. I agreed to go after work and I did.
Got to ER and they almost immediately gave me another EKG which again showed normal. They called me back into triage again shortly afterwards to finish the admission process and give me baby aspirin. By this time I was really hurting again so they hustled me back to a room and hooked me up to the EKG again. The nurse just looked up and said you are having a heart attack!! Newt thing I knew I had about six people around me, IV’s in both arms etc. They also explained that there was no cardiologist on duty so I would be going by ambulance to their sister hospital which was better equipped. Got there and was met in the parking lot by the doctor.
After several tests and more meds I ended up having a heart cath later this morning. Only had blockages in my widow maker artery no where else. Got a stint put in a started feeling much better. I have a great prognosis and should be able to get back to work in a week or two
Moral of this long story. Don’t play around with ANYTHING that mimics heart attack symptoms. It could kill you. It almost did me. If nothing for my son-in-law and the staff at the er who knows what could have happened.
You all take care of yourself and be careful out there.

 

Glad you're doing better now.
Be prepared. If you have a CDL and go out onto the road you will be out for 3 months after having a heart attack ( I'll get to that in a minute). Before you get your medical card you will need an exercise stress test on a treadmill. And a letter from your cardiologist stating you can drive. Then medical card will only be good for 1 year.

I know this stuff because I had my heart attack about 16 years ago and gotta do it every time I get a medical card.
You are correct about don't blow it off you and I are alive because we listened to our bodies and loved ones.

Monday back to work. Enjoyed my weekend. Maybe 6 days this week. Hopefully not, I'm getting used to not working on Saturdays.

HUMPDAY!!
Low 80s today but man is it humid.
Got a newer trailer assigned to me yesterday. Better lift axles and a traditional tandem in the rear, not a spread. Lift axles go up and down much quicker and they come up higher and don't drag when your making a turn. It's a manac trailer, good quality. Translucent roof with inside led lights. Pretty much new tires all the way around too.
Look how close the cross members are, very heavy duty.

So at least I have a good trailer now.
