Truck driver b.s.

I've been looking for a little over 2 weeks. The career advisor I've been working with used to be a county commissioner. And with 40 year old way back machine he used to be my high school guidance counselor. The guy I need to interview with is an old school mate. And he's the one who told me about the job. So hopefully I can land this thing.

Good morning. Enjoying the cool weather today by replacing headlight bulbs ( I HATE those clips) and a wash/wax Well at least a wash I’ll see how the wax part goes. Everyone have a good day.

 

Church and grocery shopping today. I love my fellowship at the church. Maybe some wood shop time.

 

Good Monday morning driver's. Traffic alert Trump going to be in Asheville NC Wednesday afternoon might want to avoid downtown I-240 after 13:00.

Here we go, day 1 of 5. I hate Monday's.

 

So I'm going down I-94 westbound in the city of Detroit, I see 2 containers in the middle of the eastbound side of the freeway, shake my head in disbelief and drive on.
Then I see this a couple miles down the road.
Zoom in on it, there's at least 4 trucks in this pile up. Maybe 5. I hope there wasn't any cars sandwiched in between them. Really bad one. Super truckers driving way too fast and no following distance. I'm pretty sure one guy wasn't paying attention and just obliterated a trailer, knock the axles out and removed one whole side of the trailer.

I was driving 80mph in my car the other day and a semi blew my doors off. Must have been going 90. Crazy cause the limit is 55mph

Interviewed today. Went ok, more of a whse job with some driving. 8-5 with an hour for lunch. Insurance cost is a factor for me. But until I get offered the job I can't find out what the cost will be. Doesn't seem to be that bad for what it is.

Feeling a little under the weather. I've God a lung/respiratory thing going on. I know it's not covid, I have no other symptoms. Just weezing really bad and short of breath. Short a driver right now so it's hard for me to get away to go see a doctor and get some antibiotics.

 

Smoke from wild fires?

 

Not in Michigan. No I've had this since Sunday, started weezing then.

 

Well county is not filling the Ops. Landfill job. But offered me a roll-off job not sure if I want it.

 

Would it be worth having a foot in the door? Just thinking longer-term.

 

I don't know I'm kicking it around it pays half of what I used to make but it's 40 hours a week.
Ok just got off the phone with another recruiter for another facility. Set up in person interview for Monday. More money that the other 2 places, now I just need to see who's going to make the winning bid.
