HUMPDAY!!!
Parked my trailer indoors last night to hopefully thaw out. Brakes on one of the drop axles where froze up.
7 degrees this morning, may drop another degree yet before sunrise. Not as low as they thought it would get. Hopefully this is the last of the brutally cold stuff.

Now that's funny. Anymore I'm just a tired old man, just trying to make it the next 5 months and one week to retirement. Thankfully this will be my last winter in a big truck. I'm so ready for spring. This is the part of winter I don't like, the brutal cold and single digit temps. Next week looks better with highs in the 30s.

Saturday is going to be a special day for me. It's the anniversary of my retirement. Haven't missed it for a minute! Hang in there Greg @woodtickgreg , it will be soooooooo worth it.

 

Well my job got easier. Took a DOT audit for it to happen, but here we are. Been complaining about running out of hours so they reduced my driving mileage. A manager coming to constantly fetch me was just a bridge to far!

 

I'm just trying to run out the clock..........

to be fair it’s a pretty horrible dock lol

 

Man I hit docks like that everyday, it sucks some times. I missed a pole pulling out of one yesterday but my trailer swing dragged the fender of one of our other trucks. That was a phone call I didn't want to make. I totally expected to be fired over it but that hasn't happened. Oh well, it's just a truck and it can be repaired.

In and out of this dock 3 to 4 times a day for 4 years, never had an issue. Yesterday a flatbed parks to unload a forklift right where I need to make my swing so I had to turn tighter than I needed to, cleared the pole, but the swing was on my blind side. Damn. Makes me want to retire, I really think it's time for me to get out of a big truck.

 

Well at least it's FRIYAY!!!

Shit that sucks

Could have been worse. Guy that hit me was an off duty sheriff deputy.

 

tail swing has gotten me too lol. Similar scenario too and ended up dragging a gate with the DOT bumper.

 

I know right. Better to call it in then get fired for a hit and run

 

It happens to all of us. No one is unscathed. Just makes for a bad day.
