Good morning driver's y'all have a great day today.
Yesterday we had another truck from Canada got em unload and then reloaded with crates going back to Canada.
Guess they are starting to see all my years of LTL are paying off. Only took 2 of us to load those big crates on the trailer from the ground. Last time it took 3 and the guy on the forklift had side shift and still has trouble.
Yesterday I loaded and no side shift, used the ol wiggle method .
Not uncommon here in WNC to see those big uns.

I remember when a Martin truck went off the side of I-40 going down Black Mountain. Crazy story for another time. Local news says how many wreckers does it take to pull a loaded tractor trailer 400 ft. up? As they showed the picture the reporter says currently 5:rofl:.

Man just miserable weather here in Michigan today. Rain mixed with snow, thunder, lightning, and just chilly damp weather. Visibility on the highways is poor, I've slowed waaaay down. 18 weeks till retirement and I want to make it to the finish line.

Hey what's up guys. Recently got my CDL due to my unit (im a mechanic for the air national guard) getting a couple tractor trailers. Only guy in my unit with it so now I'll be doing all the hauling. We used to contract it out. Had my first haul this past weekend

Nearly 8:00 pm and 77 degrees here. Going to be in the mid to upper 80’s next three days. Much cooler next week though.

My friday, on vacation next week. Sitting on the side of the highway with a popped air bag. Really didn't need this.

Bummer brother. I hope it doesn't effect your vacation.
I'm constantly blowing the same air bag on my truck. But in 18 weeks it'll be someone else's problem.

Poor kid. He's just finishing up. Company taking pity on me and sending a relief driver so I don't have to stay the night.

Good morning driver's y'all have a great day and be careful today.
We are going to be 84° today.
    I feel ya man
So we unloaded 2 trucks from Canada yesterday and reloaded them with empty crates, sending them back to the North.
Had a coworker try to load the crates by just pushing them in o_O the LTL on my shoulder said nope, I said I don't think this is going to work because it's too far. Oh yeah we're loading from the ground, I went along with it as I gave my input already:cool:. We ended up unloading and reloading:eek:.
At the end of the day XPO showed up with a short bus and he didn't have enough room to pick up.
I got 8 skids on him but left 5 off, even stacking 2 of our skids. Coworker was like  you knew how much room we needed. XPO driver was cool too.
Told my supervisor I am starting to get PTSD from my LTL days .

Good morning driver's, hope everyone has a great weekend and a safe weekend.
Got to work yesterday and low and behold there's a truck from Canada in the dock.
Pallets and loose coils. The big coils the kind that I needed to spear and pull out lay down so the clamp truck could pick em up.
Readied the rest of the OK truck and XPO stuff. As I was banding another one out on the tarmac I see Averitt come in. On of my former coworkers who retired, and is working part-time. We chatted a bit and got back to work.
Had a decent week, trucks are picking up a little bit, that's good because we hadn't been shipping for the past 6 months.

This morning was my day to sleep in 8 hours of sleep and now just lying in bed drinking coffee. A little rain here that will be ending. Cold next week with highs in the 40s. If the weather is going to be crappy I might as well go to work and count down another week.
    17 to go........

IMG_0318.jpgAin’t sure about this thing.Showed up today for us to demo. It’s an unusual bird for sure. I’ve put over half the total miles on the odometer since the beginning of my shift today. The mirrors were still in the shipping position. First couple of moves were interesting to say the least. Got that squared away now. Be glad when mine is back in service. Been down over two weeks for a hole in the radiator.

Actually that cab is huge for a yard truck. They’re available with two seats. I think that makes the rest of the truck look smaller. I put 24 miles on it last night so it was up to 42 when I left.
It’s a quirky thing though. The learning curve is steeper than I would have thought.
